Introduction to gypsum board

Gypsum board is a kind of material made of building gypsum as the main raw material. It is a kind of building material with light weight, high strength, thin thickness, convenient processing, sound insulation, heat insulation and fire prevention. It is one of the new lightweight plates that are focused on development at present.

Gypsum board has been widely used in internal partitions, wall cladding, ceilings, sound-absorbing boards, ground base boards and various decorative boards of various buildings such as residential buildings, office buildings, shops, hotels and industrial plants.

The light partition wall composed of gypsum board can be used to separate indoor space. It has the characteristics of simple structure and convenient processing and installation. At the end of the 19th century, countries began to use gypsum board as internal partition wall. It is a light building material with large output and wide application in the world. The partition wall adopts light steel keel or steel wood keel as the skeleton, and can be combined with other materials (such as mineral wool board, waterproof coating and decorative surface materials) to form a partition wall with sound insulation, waterproof or advanced decoration requirements according to the use requirements.

Main properties of gypsum board:

(1) Low production energy consumption. The unit production energy consumption of hydrated gypsum, which is used to produce paper gypsum board, is 78% lower than that of cement.

(2) Lightweight insulation. The paper gypsum board is used as the partition wall, and the weight is only 1 / 3 and 1 / 4 of the brick wall. Meanwhile, due to the porous structure of gypsum board, its thermal conductivity is 0.30, which has excellent thermal insulation performance compared with brick (0.43) and concrete (1.63).

(3) It has excellent fire resistance. As gypsum releases chemical water when heated, its fire resistance limit can reach more than 2H.

(4) Good decorative function. The surface of gypsum board is flat, and the boards can be firmly bonded together through cement to form a seamless structure, with good architectural decoration effect.

(5) Good constructability. Gypsum board can be nailed, sawn, glued and convenient for construction. Using it as decoration can greatly improve the construction efficiency.

(6) Comfortable living function. Because gypsum board has unique "breathing" performance, it has the ability to adjust indoor humidity and make living comfortable.
